Community Classes

 

American EMT’s American Heart Association Heartsaver courses for the community are designed to train everyday persons with no prior healthcare knowledge how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants. Our curriculum is based on the latest scientific data and techniques so that you are confident that the knowledge and skills you acquire are the most up to date available.   Our instructors are working EMT’s and Parmedics who deal with emergencies on a regular basis.  Since the course design and certification cards are from the American Heart Association, you can be assured that you are receiving the most recognized training available.   All of American EMT’s courses are available as initial training or renewal and can be taken in a traditional classroom room or blended learning format.

CPR AED

The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for general knowledge, job or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. For many AHA Heartsaver courses, students receive a course completion card that is valid for 2 years.  The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The CPR and AED course Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s Heartsaver CPR Class in Birmingham is for anyone who wants to learn the skills needed to recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help a person until EMS arrives.  

 

CPR AED & FIRST AID

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The Heartsaver CPR, AED, and First Aid reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).This course is for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Upon successful course completion, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.  

Pediatric CPR AED First Aid Classes

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course trains participants how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2015 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid.

Who should take this course?

The AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone involved in childcare who have a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Including: childcare workers, teachers, camp counselors, etc
