The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probes, and Cognitive Assessment Activities. The computer-based portion of the online PALS certification course is available 24/7 and can be taken at the students own pace. Once the online portion of the PALS certification has been completed, the student then schedules an in-person skills exam at American EMT’s emergency medical training center in Birmingham. The in-person skills exam takes less than an hour based on our experience. An AHA PALS certification card will be issued the same day that student completes the in person skills exam. Students have up to 60 days to complete the online BLS certification course including the in-person skills exam.
